From fat biking on frozen lakes to mountain biking on epic trails every other season, Burns Lake is a year round adventure playground!

Experience breathtaking winter moments by cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and skating or hockey on a frozen lake. Indoor activities include curling, hockey, rock climbing and fitness training in the new Lakeside Multiplex. Summer activities include camping, fishing, hiking, and world class mountain biking.

Burns Lake is a community that loves to get together and celebrate with events such as Canada Day, Halloween Parties for the kids, Parades, Community Hall Dinners, and Festivals for the performing arts and the Big Pig Bike Festival!

Schools

School District 91 – Nechako Lakes has two elementary schools and one secondary school in Burns Lake. They are William Konkin Elementary and Decker Lake Elementary, and Lakes District Secondary School. The philosophy here is that education should be exciting, enriching and an adventure just like life.

There are post secondary education opportunities as well in Burns Lake. The College of New Caledonia has a campus that offers a wide range of courses, programs and services to the community including business, trades, online, continuing education and university studies.
